Dinner menu!

I awoke from a late afternoon nap to the smell of food. Honest to God real food! I rolled myself out of bed, slipped on my yoga pants, and waddled into the living room. It smelled so good! Hubby made himself baked chicken, dressing, and greens. Yum!

The dressing was super moist. I poked at it for a second and asked Joe if he thought I could eat some of it. He said I probably could if I chewed well and took tiny bites. I was so excited! He fixed me a small portion and brought it to me. It was soooo good. Real food. Not watery jello, or soup broth, or a popsicle, but real food. Ahh. It went down well, with tiny, tiny bites. And it's sitting well on my stomach.

Tonight, life is good.

I LOVE good dressing! My mouth is watering, in fact, while I drink my pre-op protein shake! Glad you got to enjoy some real food!

I started on solids early on too. My Dr. told me that it was fine. I haven't had a single problem. I can't imagine doing several weeks of liquids, let alone CLEAR liquids! That would be very difficult.

My post op diet was 48 hours of clear liquids, the full liquids and mushy stuff. Yogurt, pudding, blenderized soups and moist foods, etc. I probably wasn't supposed to have the dressing, but it was so moist, it just melted in my mouth.
I've seen some people have clear liquid diets for weeks, and I just don't know how they survive that!
